3 Dear Sisters and Brothers, 31st Sunday in Ordinary Time Last weekend, once more we have heard sad news of an attack on a Synagogue with 11 people loosing lives in Pittsburgh. There is no place for violence in our lives. We all resent bullying and mistreatment, not talking about any physical abuse. We need to continue to pray for the victims and their families, that they find strength to bear the pain of their loss and hurt. It s so difficult to find understanding and acceptance to such senseless violence. Every person desires respect and fair treatment in all places, we desire kindness and love from our family and friends and so we have to give to others this same. In the gospel of this Sunday, Jesus gives us an indication for holiness and happiness in our lives simplifying the whole Bible to two commandments of loving God and our neighbor as ourselves. How important it must be for us, to come to know God s love for us, to be able to respond to it as Jesus asks us through the words of the Old Testament: to love God with all our heart, with all our soul, with all our mind and with all our strength? How important it must be for us to make an experience of that love? How much we must ponder God s Word, how much we need to be close to God to have this total love with all strength of the: body, mind and soul, all for God. What in life do we love with all our strength, with the power of our body, mind and soul??? Does love like this exists??? Or at least what love comes closest to that kind of love??? Love like this probably exists, but who of us would say that we love God in that profound way of total self gift??? Or what it means to love God or another person in that way???certainly one needs to ponder this meaning in faith and love in prayer to come to terms with it. Loving others seems simple, to love them as ourselves with simple reciprocity. If we define our practical life answer to this question, we will answer to our greatest call as a human person. Jesus gave us a clue with his own life and death. Are we ready to imitate Him??? Here I would like to share with you this prayer, that you may have seen me share in the bulletin, but it s worth remembering. Attributed to Fr. Pedro Arrupe, SJ ( ) Nothing is more practical than finding God, than falling in Love in a quite absolute, final way. What you are in love with, what seizes your imagination, will affect everything. It will decide what will get you out of bed in the morning, what you do with your evenings, how you spend your weekends, what you read, whom you know, what breaks your heart, and what amazes you with joy and gratitude. Fall in Love, stay in love, and it will decide everything. This week we honored All Saints who tried to embody this prayer, and now we honor them for their efforts and example. We continue to pray for the Souls of our departed family members. You may remember them by enlisting them for the All Souls Novena of Masses taking the envelope from the entrances of the church and writing their names for remembrance in Novena of Masses and in our prayers in the month of November. May the Lord show them his Mercy, and give them the happiness of heaven. And us let s ponder and learn how to love God and one another as ourselves. God bless everyone always!!! Fr. Stan

4 Let us welcome the following babies and their families who were Baptized into the Church: Jayden Alexander Halley Christian Jamaal Smiley WEDDING BANNS FIRST BANNS Ever Zelaya & Matilde Contreras Wedding November 10, 2018 Queridos Hermanos y Hermanas: El fin de semana pasado, una vez mas, hemos escuchado tristes noticias de ataques a la Sinagoga con 11 personas perdiendo la vidas en Pittsburgh.
